Hi,

I am travelling in Switzerland for 10 days. I have a Singapore phone , but it will be too expensive to roam.

I also need the internet to check on trains and buses to take. . What is the cheapest way to stay connected In Swiss travel?

Hello Thcshc,

Thanks for your question regarding internet services while in Switzerland. I have attached some links about internet services for you:

I will also attach the link about the Swiss train station schedule; definitely download the app once you get the internet sorted out on your mobile:

Good luck!

Best regards,

For the best value data SIM you can’t go past shop.salt.ch/en/plans/ prepay/

The actual offer may be hidden behind a 50% discount pop up which you have to dismiss to see the real deal. Hit the "X" at top right hand corner of the pop up.

It is not officially endorsed by MySwissAlps but I used this SIM when I visited last year and found it great value. We have reports of another member sending weather reports to the forum from the top of Schilthorn using that SIM.

CHF19.95 (when I used this SIM in 2017 it was only CHF10 but still great value) gets you 10 days unlimited high-speed data (assuming you use it only for data and not calls as well).

Swisscom offer a CHF2/day pre-paid deal but they have a limit of 10Gb/month and speeds are limited to 10Mbps download and 2Mbps upload which is probably OK if you primarily want to use the SBB mobile app. But don’t go trying to stream Netflix HD on that!

If you want unlimited calls and data the Sunrise have a pretty compelling deal (www.sunrise.ch/medias/ sys_master/Factsheets/ Factsheets/hef/hc7/897 4911078430/B03-Factsheet-Sunrise-Prepaid-Unlimited-EN.pdf).

Make sure your phone is not locked to your home provider. If it is then the Traveller's WiFi is the go. See www.myswissalps.com/si mcard.

Hi Thcshc,

I visited Switzerland & few border towns/cities in Sept 2018.
I was using UK's "3" SIM card with 12GB data, good experience, no problem surfing internet during my 3 weeks in Switzerland, Colmar in France, Milan in Italy, etc...

I bought it from my Bern guesthouse owner. Recently I read that it's available in Singapore at S$33. You may want to visit one of their outlets.

Do let me know if you need maps/brochures (photo attached).

Enjoy your trip!
